Maria Serebryakova 1965
Painter, sculptor, graphic artist. Creates metaphysical landscapes. By leaving large planes empty in her paintings, she outlines mountains, tree and interiors with light or contrasting tones, making them light up against backgrounds of subtle colours. Her sculptures are minimalist. Participated in Documenta (1992), Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art (2005, 2007). Works are in the Russian Museum, MoMA, Stedelijk Museum.
