Representative of the social art, calls himself an «imperial artist». Worked on metaphysical images in the 60’s. Has been forming a myth about the heroic era of the Soviet state since the 70's. After the collapse of the Soviet Union began to reflect on the cataclysms of history and the phenomenon of time. Uses the attributes of various imperial cultures, creating busts, parsuns, totems, sculptures and installations. Works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Guggenheim Museum.
