Although the work is executed in a small format, which is more typical of studies, it is valuable and has all the qualities of a big work. Masterkova experiments with the composition and with the colour, colliding contrasting ochre-yellow and dark purple colours. These colours reconcile and balance the vortices of red, which is located between them in the colour spectre. Masterkova works in an expressive manner, painting with large rapid brushstrokes. By varying the level of pressure, the artist applies the paint in thick and semitransparent layers, due to which the cardboard is visible. On top of the composition are scratched divergent lines with the handle of the paintbrush. This technique makes the texture seem especially expressive. V
