Dmitry Krasnopevtsev’s artworks are contemplative, as he opens up the quiet internal life of objects. In the presented still life, the shell that left the sea a long time ago and the vase with a dried-up branch inside acquire a new metaphysical meaning. The artist uses laconic means of expression: shapes, which are outlined by harsh graphic contours and a precisely calibrated composition. Krasnopevtsev’s relationship towards things remind us of a museum: taken out of their daily hassle, they become timeless artefacts, gathered in the cabinet of the collector of rarities. V
