Vladimir Yankilevsky 1938–2018
The nonconformist artist. Reflects on the place of man in the universe. In the 1960’s, the main concept in works was a triptych, embodying the biomechanical structure of the world, where the male and female origins form a universe. «Existential boxes» and doors, the shape of which restricts freedom of form and movement were his motive in the 70’s. Works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, Russian Museum, Pompidou Center.
