Worked on paintings, installations, photography. Founders of the Sots-Art movement. They portrayed slogans of the Soviet propaganda and stereotypes of Socialist Realism. After emigrating they moved on to criticising capitalism and the irony of art history, mixing in one work abstract art, expressionism, realism. Works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, Metropolitan Museum, Pompidou Centre, Victoria and Albert Museum.
