Belonged to the «arefiev circle» of unofficial Leningrad art (1940-1960’s). Most of his works – are urban landscapes, apartment still lifes, portraits and genre scenes – are woven of «dirty», deep color. Graphic black and white and colored sheets are distinguished by an expressive manner and avant-garde forms. Works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the Russian Museum.
