Artist
Oscar Rabine 1928–2018
Founder of the «Lianozov group», organizer of the «Bulldozer Exhibition» (1974). His painting is prone to laconic forms, lack of color, contains collage and assemblage. His paintings depict the «barrack world»: houses, yards, objects of Soviet life. His oeuvres lost acute social orientation after his move to Paris: turns to the topic of Jewry and formal search. Works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Pompidou Center.
