Michael Roginsky 1931–2004
The nonconformist artist. Created picturesque «portraits of things» and episodes from Soviet everyday. He is best known for the early 60’s ready-mades, was nicknamed «father of Russian pop art» for them. In scenes of the stagnation period life, using muted «routine» colors, conveyed the atmosphere of timelessness in a schematic manner . Works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, Russian Museum, the Pompidou Center.
