Leonid Sokov 1941–2018
A representative of social art or, as the artist says, folklore pop art. Author of paintings, sculptures, objects. Compares various images of Soviet and Western society in work: signs of power, images of media, folklore motifs, masterpieces of world art. Sokov demonstrates the geopolitical conflict of cultures of the 20th century with some kind of irony. Works are in Tretyakov Gallery, the Pompidou Center.
