Ivan Sotnikov 1961–2015
Was in the «New Artists» group. In the 80’s, his wild style responded to the avant-garde pioneering spirit. In naive painting, uses a dirty intense color and a primitive form in the spirit of Larionov. An important part of creativity is the city of St. Petersburg: yards, streets and kitchens, childishly angular cars, branded fur trees; works with conceptual painting and objects. Works are in the Russian Museum.
