Artist
Irina Zatulovskaya 1954
Defines the genre in which she works as the Russian arte povera, critics also call it neo-primitivist minimalism. An austere manner is typical for her – two or three colors, simple silhouettes. Creates objects, paints on iron sheets, on fragments of old furniture, extremely rarely – on canvas. Metaphors as subjects actualise fairy tales and myths in the modern context. Works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum.
