Paints, works with graphics, objects and installations. One of the founders of Moscow Conceptualism, inventor of the ‘conceptual album’ genre (70’s) and of the ‘total installation’ (80’s). By using the aesthetics of communal objects from everyday life, texts and commentaries, the artist narrates the social life in the USSR, demonstrating its absurd character. Participated in the Venice Biennale (1977, 1993). Works are in the Tretyakov Gallery, Tate Modern.
