A representative of Moscow conceptualism. Creates objects and installations, based on the interpretation of texts and their visual reflection. Together with Igor Makarevich, Elagina is engaged in the «archeology of Sovietness»: the artists describe the world of ideological cliches, interlacing artistic fiction and documentary evidence. Works are in the Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery.
