If we look at this painting through the optics of my main theme “My USSR”, than “Pink train” could be seen as a blue train, as in “the blue train runs, swings…”; and of course as a pink dream at the same time. It is hard to imagine this bright colour in a monochrome, not such distant past. The trains were painted in colours that were meant to look like red or green. It is interesting that by mixing them with rust on a background of coal and masut, they looked pink in the morning fog. I am of course a formalist - what is written and in which colour is not that important. The main thing remains how I manage to work with these materials using different figures. I once had a slip of the pen “Train on canvas”.
